This canopied lift was our most intricate project when we built it. It has three stations, each with an automatic interlocked sliding gate that has leading edge safeties. It's also one of our most heavily used lifts and averages about 1,500 round trips every years.
Lift 26: 2-Door 4-Person: From a High Deck to the Lower Patio
Lift 25: 2-Door Combo-Car: Parking Area to Cottage
This lift runs from a parking area to the cottage with most of the track very close to the ground. The two-door car enters from the left side at the top and exits from right side at the bottom. We used wire mesh and embedded wooden “steps” under the track to minimize erosion and stabilize the slope. The lift seamlessly integrates into the landscaping and provides a great view of a terraced garden.
Lift 23: From a High Cottage Deck to the Lake
This dramatic lift, which rises about seven stories from dock to cottage, replaced a rickety set of stairs. The upper station is about 15 feet off the ground. The track was set so that the car arrives perfectly positioned between two railing posts. The upper gate is interlocked so it won’t open unless the car is in the station. The car won’t move unless the gate is closed.
Lift 22: A 4-Station Lift: Parking Area to Main Cottage Floor to Cottage Patio to Dock
Lift 20: A 4-Person: Cottage Deck to Dock
Lift 21: A 2-Person Combo: From Parking Area to Cottage
Lift 16: A Canopied Lift That Rises Ten Stories
Lift 18: An Island Cargo Lift: Dock to Kitchen Porch
Lift 19: A Cargo-only Wheelbarrow Lift to Keep the Beach Clear
Lift 17: 1-Person Combo Lift: From the Parking Area To the Cottage
Lift 15: An Island Lift, From Dock to Cottage deck
Lift 14: Seven Stories To a Valley Floor
Lift 13: A Long Lift Through the Trees
Although this lift rises 80 feet from the lake to a hilltop through a mature forest, we were able to find an ideal line. The upper station is on a natural hillock and provides good access to the cottage. The lower station is a step off the forest floor, framed by two established trees. Amazingly, only one mature tree had to come down.
Lift 12: From Lakehouse Deck to Boathouse Roof.
Lift 11: From the Parking Area to the Cottage
Lift 10: From the Lakehouse Patio to the Boathouse Upper Floor
We built this for the Muskoka Building Company on a cottage construction site after their original contractor was unable to begin the installation.
