Before this lift the owners need a 4 by 4 gator, a motor boat, and 30 minutes to get from their cottage to their floating dock. Now it’s a 1 minute walk and a 1 minute ride.
The new purchaser of this property needed the lift to accommodate his whole family, many who would arrive by boat.
There was no way for owners to use this property conveniently without a lift. Lovegrove Construction invited us to design a solution. It turned out there was only one spot at the top where we could place the lift and that, fortunately, worked for building the dock and the cottage.
This spectacular lift rises about five-and-half stories from the boathouse to the cottage yard — an awesome alternative to climbing 89 steps.
This dramatic lift, which rises about seven stories from dock to cottage, replaced a rickety set of stairs. The upper station is about 15 feet off the ground. The track was set so that the car arrives perfectly positioned between two railing posts. The upper gate is interlocked so it won’t open unless the car is in the station. The car won’t move unless the gate is closed.
This spectacular lift runs at a steep 57-degree angle. At the top station, the car floor is about 15 feet off the ground. It aligns with an interlocked access gate through the main deck railing.
Prior to the installation of this lift the owners had never been to their lakefront. Now, a trip between the water and the cottage, about 170 feet of vertical rise, takes four peaceful minutes and offers a spectacular view of the forest, cliff, and lake.
