Lift 30: From Cottage to Path to Dock - With A Gorgeous Rock Wall View

Model: 4-Person, 750 lbs.
Track: 191' at 30°
Area: Lake Rosseau
Year: 2010

We looked at several possible track routes before finding one tucked away from the rest of the property and almost invisible from the water yet is optimally located at both ends. It opens up easy access to the boathouse as well as a previously hidden and beautiful rock wall that is the highlight of the ride.

The owners opted to have have the lift land a few feet higher than the front deck rather than land level with the deck but further down the hill.

When we were setting the first piece of track we realized we had a total of 2” of clearance between a rock on the right at the bottom and a rock on the left about 8’ up from the bottom. We left an inch on either side.

The lower station is as pretty as a picture.

This is the inch we left on the right side (looking down the track) when we set the bottom target.. When we ran the car the first time we forgot about the tight fit but the car slid perfectly between the rocks and into the lower station.

This lift is convenient to the boathouse but far enough back from the water that it can hardly be seen. The stone slab pathway leads from the boathouse to the cottage and doubles as the lower station platform.
