On the first site visit we looked at several other possible track routes before finding a route that was tucked away from the rest of the property, was optimally located at both ends, and that opened up a previously hidden and beautiful rock wall that is highlighted on the ride.

Since our 4 channel remote transmitters had a spare channel we added a LIGHTS button to the control panels. This allows the owner to control externally powered and wired accent and safety lighting from the main button boxes or from the remote. The lights are typically programmed to shut off automatically 30 minutes after turning them on. They can also be turned off manually. This feature might be particularly useful when docking after dark.

When we were measuring the track to locate the first 20' of this track we realized that we only had 2" of clearance at the bottom end, we had a rock on the left side about 10 feet from the bottom and another rock on the right which was nearly at the end. We set our target to leave 1" on either side and went ahead with the install. It wasn't until we ran the car the first time that we remembered the tight clearance. We were delighted, but not at all surprised, to find that we nailed it.

I0030 looking down the track

The car is about two thirds the way down the track. The rocks to the right of the picture were exposed by the track.

I0030 looking up the track

It`s a gentle rise but but the vertical distance is about 110 feet.

I0030 missing a rock

The door misses a rock on the way up the track.

I0030 the lower station

The owners have since added a short stone walkway that connects the station to the old pathway leading to the boathouse.

I0030 top station

In order to have the lift station beside the deck we had to raise the top end station above the deck level.
