This was a tricky lift to install, the top end was about 12' off the ground and had to be positioned so the car floor would be even with the cottage deck which was about 10' away from the track, it would be extended after the installation. In addition we had very little left to right room to position the track, there were rocks on one side near the bottom and trees on the other side halfway down and the car would need to miss both. We had less than a foot to play with. We used a laser level and a string line to position the first section and then set up a target, a wood screw on the deck, to position the rest of the track. As seen in the photos, the car runs midway between the two obstacles and the top end of the track was perfectly located. We love and excel at this kind of challenge.

Before we installed the last section of track we trimmed the deck. We put in an extra 10' of track to mount the dolly and car and afterwards removed it. As can be seen in the photos, the transportation and  installation of the car was a tricky process. We had to end the lift at the lower deck because the water height fluctuates by over 5'. Fortunately we installed the lift when the water was at it's lowest.

The owners rebuilt the lower deck and extended the cottage deck to meet the lift once the lift was complete. It all fit together perfectly.

The first section of track looks like it's lost in the middle of nowhere but is actually precision located to the terrain according to 6 independent variables.

We used the string line to position the upper 20' section section of track and the screw as a target to set the remaining 50' of the track.

This was a pretty crazy way to get the car from the mainland to the island. It worked perfectly.

The car attached to the the dolly before the excess track was removed.

A happy owner riding the lift past the rock at the lower end.

Looking down the track at the 2 happy owners riding their new Inclined Elevator. The deck to the left is the extension of the main upper deck which is still under construction.
